Minister's 'own' doc changes loyalty, holds party for PSOs of MoS | | | Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 25: An influential doctor, who is known for his proximity to a senior minister, has distanced himself from the latter after it was rumoured that he is being dropped from the state cabinet. The doctor is now busy lobbying to get close to a Minister for State (MoS). In this bid, he even organised a lavish party for not the MoS but his personal security officers (PSOs). Civil Secretariat sources told Early Times that as the 'Darbar' is moving to Srinagar, the influential doctor threw a lavish party for some security personnel of the MoS a few days back just to appease them. "As the rumours are rife that the senior minister is being dropped from the cabinet for his failure to streamline the system as well as for being corrupt, the minister's henchman (doctor) has changed loyalty. The doctor knows that if the minister is removed, the undue favours he extracts from his department will be hit. Therefore, he is trying to come close to a junior minister," said sources. A source said the doctor, whom he termed 'sycophant', was virtually burning the midnight oil to come close to some top officials of the same department. "The doctor is leaving no stone to register himself in good books of the other politicians and bureaucrats by adopting short ways," the source added. Earlier, the doctor had taken so many undue favours by accompanying the 'outgoing' cabinet minister to various public platforms and even Civil Secretariat. He had succeeded to manage a job for one of his relatives in city area. "He was seen threatening employees, colleagues and others on the name of minister," the sources said. A few doctors, seeking anonymity, said that 'sycophancy' is becoming new threat to the governance. "Now even doctors are following footsteps of politicians and bureaucrats, and instead of performing their duties they are serving the interests of politicians and ministers," said the sources. |
