ASKPC criticizes PM for ignoring KPs | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 22: ASKPC has criticized the recent visit of Prime Minister for ignoring the plight of Kashmiri Pandits. According to press release, Ravinder Raina said that Modi, consciously ignoring the plight of Kashmiri Pandit exiled community and by not uttering even a single word about the Kashmiri Pandits, has played into the hands of divisive communal forces bent upon projecting the Kashmir secessionist movement as a legitimate issue with Indian forces as a suppressive entity. On one hand, return of community with honour & dignity has been projected as a hollow promise, while as the ground reality is that community assets are being encroached upon even today. The community feels anguished over the latest incident of a temple property being illegally encroached at Batamaloo, though as per the migrant property act, the Deputy Commissioners are the custodians of the left over property & religious shrines/temples. Advocate Raina demanded that the Govt. should take action against the DC's for not being able to protect the community shrines. This would be a litmus test for the State as well as the Central Governments for their sincerity in rehabilitating the community back in the doomed valley. The Government should show its resolve to protect community assets by passing the Temples & Shrines bill in the State legislature immediately. |
