Jammu, May 22: Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Fighters Association (JKFFA) on Tuesday remembered former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his 27th death anniversary. To pay tribute to Rajiv Gandhi a programme was organized at Dogra Shaurya Sthal, Ambhalla which was organised by Ved Gandotra, the President of the Association and former JMC Commissioner Kiran Wattal was the Chief Guest. Candles were lit in the memory of the great leader and floral tributes were paid to him, with garlanding with showers of the petals. The chief guest and the member highlighted the deeds of the Rajiv Gandhi, whose sacrifices will continue to lead the Nation at the path of peace, harmony and development. They said the Nation has lost a tallest leader of the world in the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi. "The best way to pay homage to departed leader was to follow his footsteps and work for unity, harmony and development of the Country as Rajiv Gandhi even offered his life, but did not compromise on his commitment and conviction," they said. Rajiv Gandhi, they said, was the architect of modern India under whose leadership the Nation touched the new heights in computer science, economy and overall development of the people from grass roots levels. The members exhorted the countrymen to beware of the enemy within the country and work hard for the unity and prosperity of the nation and also do not fall prey to the religious and regional sentiments fight corruption, terrorism and poverty with hard hands. The prominent persons also present were Rajiv Mahajan (State President Shri Ram Sena), J.J Singh, Pritam Sharma (State President Kranti Dal), S. Chopra, Raj Kumar Tyagi, Kamal Sharma, Thakur Karnail Chand, Prabhat Kapahi, Sushil Verma and Others. |
