Jammu, May 22: As a part of its various programms related to educational activities and child development Kashmiri Pandit Sabha organized a painting competition today in which 56 students from Camp Hr. Sec. School, Jagti; Govt. Mixed Hr. Sec. School, Roop Nagar; Abhay Hr. Sec School, Muthi; Vishwa Bharti Hr. Sec. School, Akalpur; Govt. Mixed Hr. Sec. School, Purkhoo Camp; Saraswati Nikaten Kendra, Purkhoo and Sprawling Buds, Laxmi Puram, Chinor participated. The Competition was conducted for Junior and Senior Levels and Topic was "Save Earth". The idea behind was to enhance basic knowledge and capacities of young students about nature. Three judges constituted for selection of best paintings were Rohit Verma, Ankush Kesar, and Sukhjit Singh from Institute of Fine Arts, Jammu University. Later a gala function was organized to give prizes to winners of the competition. Dr. Meenakshi Kilam, Registrar, University of Jammu was the Chief Guest on the occasion and K. K. Khosa Kashmiri Pandit Sabha, President presided.
Khosa exhorted students to imbibe spirit of living in harmony with nature. Swatch Bharat Abhiyan of our PM is in consonance with natural habit. Dr. Kilam lauded the effort of Kashmiri Pandit Sabha in conducting such programmes to harness the hidden potential of Students. Academic education is not complete without the multi sectoral development of students. She said that displaced students need more exposure and Govt. should also extend help to KP Sabha for conducting more of such programmes. |
