Pilgrims stranded at Jammu base camp since 3-4 days, say no tickets issued to proceed further

Jammu, July 8: Hundreds of Amarnath yatris taking the annual pilgrimage to the cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas were stranded for three to four days due to bad weather conditions. According to a reports the pilgrims were stranded at Jammu base camp. Authorities have cited bad weather as the reason for the delay and informed that the pilgrims will soon be sent ahead to carry on with their yatra.
The stranded pilgrims said that they have been waiting for 3-4 days but no tickets have been issued to them to proceed further. The pilgrims who have been waiting for almost four days now, say there is a huge rush at the base camp and on the further route.
AmarnathYatra pilgrims stranded at Jammu base camp, say, "we have been waiting for 3-4 days, no tickets have been issued to us to proceed further, there is a lot of rush here. Authorities cite bad weather as the reason for the delay. We hope the pilgrims are sent ahead soon."
According to a report by news agency, the Yatra resumed on the Baltal route in central Kashmir's Ganderbal district today after remaining suspended for three days due to landslides and inclement weather. On the 10th day of the yatra, 10,107 pilgrims paid obeisance at the holy cave. The annual yatra to the holy cave shrine of Amarnath in South Kashmir Himalayas began on June 28 and will conclude on August 26, 2018. A total of 83,130 pilgrims have visited the cave shrine in the south Kashmir Himalayas during this year's pilgrimage so far. This year, the yatra will be longer by 20 days against 40 days in 2017. To recall, a total of 2.60 lakh pilgrims offered prayers at the shrine in 2017.
The Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB), which manages the yatra, has made elaborate arrangements and the state administration and security agencies are lending support to ensure that the pilgrims do not face problems.
