Early Times Report
Jammu, July 8: The investigation by State Vigilance Organization (SVO) officials is so slow that it takes years to complete it and produce challan in the court of law.
Moreover cases where officials were caught red handed accepting the bribe have not been investigated for unknown reasons.
According to records of State Vigilance Organization, a total of 55 cases involving several government officials, have been under investigation since 2015 in Kashmir division alone.
Some of these under investigation cases include, officials caught red-handed while accepting bribe, misuse of official position, siphoning of government exchequer, fraudulent allotment of works, etc. Investigation on all these cases have been failed to complete in last five years and only one case has been challened so far.
Same is the situation in Jammu division wherein a total of 43 cases have been under investigation since year 2015 and not even a single case is challened by SVO.
In the same way, a total of 23 cases have been pending since 2016 in Kashmir province and 31 cases pending in Jammu province, against which investigation has been going on since then. A total of 46 cases have been pending in Jammu province since the year 2017 and 33 cases have been pending in Kashmir valley.
"The slow pace of SVO investigation reflects the non-serious approach of the watchdog agency against the state government employees allegedly involved in the corruption", sources said, adding that it most of the corruption related cases have not been proved by the SVO officials.
The sources further alleged that it was easy to get out of SVO cases either by political interference or closeness with power corridors.
