Jammu, July 8: Delayed much beyond the stipulated time, the hyped recruitment of 2154 teachers' in school education department may suffer further delay.
Former Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti in December 2017 had patted the back of her government, after announcing recruitment of 2154 teachers that too within four months.
"To meet the dearth of staff in schools we have directed the J&K Services Selection Board to complete the recruitment for 2,154 teachers' posts in the next 4 months. Education a top priority for us", she tweeted on Dec 15, 2017. However, after lapse of deadline, sources in JKSSB informed Early Times that the process will take more time than the announced deadline. "If the candidates, who select for the post join by next session, it would also be an achievement", the sources said and added that result of written test held in May 2018 for general line teachers' yet to be declared.
"Results for 900 posts of Science and Urdu teachers has been declared, but results for remaining 1259 post of general line teachers yet to be declared", sources said, admitting delay as per the commitment of government to meets its words, sources said in 2018 the Board has received over six lacs applications for various posts. "It is expected, the results for reaming 1259 post of teachers, will be declared by end of this month", they said.
"As per advertisement issued in January 2018, results for selected candidates were to be declared in May, but the Board received huge applications for teachers post, the examination took place in May", they said.
