Jammu, Oct 10: The residents of Ward Number 32 in Ajit Colony of Jammu West have sought opening of ration depot in their locality as people were facing great hardships in fetching ration and other essential commodities from far off depots. They said that in absence of any ration depot in the area, commoners were finding it difficult to get ration and many a times they even don't know the status of availability of food grains. They voiced their concern in a meeting held in Ward Number 32 at Ajit Colony which was organized by Ward President PDP . The meeting was chaired by People's Democratic Party (PDP) Zone President Jammu West, Puneet Singh Jamwal which was aimed at strengthening party cadres, spread message of party's programmes and policies amongst commoners and also listen to their grievances. Speaking on the occasion, Puneet Singh Jamwal said that the area lacks street lights and there is also a need of stretching sagging electric wires which are posing a threat to people's lives. The matter being of serious nature will be taken up with Power development department (PDD) and wherever electric poles are needed will be got installed. Assuring the gathering that party is playing the role of bridge between people and government, he said that matter pertaining to leakage of water pipes and polluted water will also be taken up with PHE authorities. He also urged Jammu Municipal authorities to take stock of people's issues with regards to water logging, improper drains, dilapidated roads and lanes, garbage collection points and encroachments of canal distributaries so that people don't face problems and a good and clean city is developed. Prominent amongst those who were present include S. Harbans Singh, Ravinder Singh, S. Bablu, Sham Sharma, Ashok Koul, Vaid Kumar, Ram Krishen, Neel Kamal, Puran Chand, Badri Nath, Kuldeep Verma, Rampal, Kulbushan Sharma, Banti, Sonu Sharma, Ishant Sharma, Sr.Gurdev Singh, Vijay Anand and Shishu Gandotra. |
