JAMMU, Oct 10: The pathetic conditions of KK Hakku Hockey stadium, Jammu makes all the hockey lovers in the region sad. The worn out surface has failed to attract the attention of the authorities.
The stadium is going into ruins and the damaged turf can cause mishaps.
The authorities concerned apparently have failed to repair/treat the Astro turf (Artificial turf) despite repeated requests, sources said.
Sources added that the patches in the turf hamper the performance of the players and a lot of players have complained about the surface.
Officials from the sports department have announced to change the turf many times but no action has been taken so far said a talented hockey player.
When contacted joint secretary, J&K State Sports Council Shiv Kumar Sharma said that he had already taken this matter with higher ups and he assured that Astro turf (Artificial Turf) will be replaced soon. |
