Bone & Joint Hospital sans basic facilities 10/10/2016 11:09:59 PM Majid Nabi Srinagar, Oct 10: The valley's only trauma cum orthopedic center, Bone and Joint Hospital owing to the disintegrated policies of the government had put lives of the people at risk as the hospital besides lacking basic health care facilities lacks MRI, CT scan and digital X-ray machine to cater the huge influx of over 1000 patients per day. Reliable sources told "Early Times' that the hospital wherein thousands of patients visit per day is without basic health care facilities forcing people to consult private doctors to treat themselves. "The condition of the hospital is getting messy with each passing day as the government is not paying any heed towards the disorganized system of the hospital which has not only irked the patients but has adversely hit the functioning of the hospital," sources told 'Early Times'. They said that the B&J hospital being lone trauma care centre sans vital machinery like CT scan, MRI and digital x-ray compelling people to conduct such important tests form private labs on high rates. "There are some black sheep inside who just for their benefits do not want to have these machines in the hospital advising patients to conduct necessary tests form outside labs.," they said. The hospital also faces deficiency of critical care ambulance which adds to the miseries of commoners who hire private vehicles on high rates either to refer to other hospitals or to enter B&J. "This hospital is aimed to provide free ambulance service to all however shortage of same put the lives of people in danger as they cannot not reach here particularly form accident sites and most of them die before reaching the hospital," sources said.
