Jammu, Oct 10: The Department of Mathematics, Central University of Jammu in collaboration with Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education(HBCSE) and on behalf of the National Board for Higher Mathematics(NBHM) of the Department of Atomic Energy(DAE), Government of India organized Regional Mathematical Olympiad(RMO)-2016 here at Sainik Colony, Temporary Academic Block, Central University of Jammu.
The test was simultaneously held at four other centres of Jammu region , namely, Govt. Degree College Kathua, Govt. Degree College Akhnoor, Govt. Degree College Samba and Govt. Degree College Doda.
More than 300 students of classes IX, X and XI from various schools of Jammu Region participated in the competition. The main purpose of this competition, which was also held in other 25 regions of the country, is to spot mathematical talent among pre-university students in the country.
The result of Regional Mathematical Olympiad for all the regions is to be declared centrally by HBCSE before 6th December, 2016. |
