Encroached main bazaar, impediments to commuters 10/10/2016 11:28:25 PM Rajesh Tandon Early Times Report Poonch, Oct 10: It has been ordered by District administration that no vehicular traffic is allowed on the road of main Bazar of Poonch city. The entry points to this road of main bazaar of Poonch city is Parade ground and Poonch Fort . It has been observed that thousands of persons from rural areas come to this bazaar daily for purchasing their daily needs , but are faced with difficulty while walking on the road of main Bazar of Poonch city . The road of Bazar of Poonch city is encroached by shopkeepers by pitting on the roads their materials for sale . The road is narrowed by the encroachments made by the shopkeepers thereby creating difficulties for the passersby. The public at large told the reporter that if this problem remained it will be difficult for the public to walk in the bazaar. Mean while the police department has allowed the vehicles to enter in the bazaar during the peak hours i.e 8a.m. to 8 p.m. Talking to media persons, Imtaiz Salaria chairman youth society Poonch in a press conference told that this is the genuine demand of the public and needs to be redressed at an earliest. He urged the deputy Commissioner and SSP Poonch to look into the matter and give directions to shopkeepers not to install their materials on the road and avoid it by encroaching the road and not to create difficulty for passersby. He also appealed the police officials for not allowing the vehicles into the bazaar after 8 am to 8 p.m. so that public may not suffer in the bazaar. Others who were presented the occasion were Sunil Kumar, Mohd Sajid, Lokesh Kumar and Mehmood Hussain. While connecting with DIG Rajouri Poonch Mr. Johnny William, he said "no doubt it is illegal but people are not cooperating with the police".
