According to reports, this historic rest house situated in picturesque place is about 15 km from Bani town but calls for attention from the concerned who utterly have adopted a Nelsons' Eye approach towards the building. Pahari Vikas Committee Chief Patron Advocate Rakesh Thakur during his visit to Sandroon interacted with locals who apprised him that this beautiful Forest Rest House now has become cattle shed courtesy concerned department which virtually has failed to take care of this beautiful rest house. Pertinently Sandroon is a beautiful valley nestled within high mountains dotted with thick Deodar vegetation due to which the village got pet name -'the Valley of Deodar.' Bestowed with natural beauty and cool climatic conditions, the valley once used to attract lot of domestic tourists but due to lack of facilities the people started shying away from this beautiful place but none cares. The Sandroon village touchés Himachal Pardesh in north and surrounded with green tall waiving deodar trees, cool breeze streams, springs and snow clad mountains, green pastures further enhance its beauty. The fauna and flora especially the valuable herbs has potential to boost the possibilities of tourism in Bani tehsil ironically the picturesque Bani always has been ignored reasons better known to authorities at helms. |
