Rajouri, Aug 20: A multi-crore scam has allegedly surfaced in Rajouri district of Jammu province whereby poor matriculate girls have been duped of scholarship money worth over Rs 2.5 cr which was allotted to them under a special scheme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
As if duping them of their genuine scholarship of Rs 10,000 for each beneficiary was not enough the poor girls were now allegedly being threatened to keep quiet by the scamsters, who allegedly include a politician, a businessman and some officials. Srinagar, Aug 20: Taking serious note of the state government's failure to implement scientific disposal of waste in Srinagar, the National Green Tribunal (NGT) has directed the state government to stop dumping of garbage at the Achan landfill site here.
Officials confirmed that for the past around a week the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has formally stopped lifting of garbage from the summer capital. As a result around 4000 metric tons of garbage lies unattended in the City already under curfew for the past over 40 days.

Srinagar, Aug 20: As petrol pumps continue to remain closed due to strict curfew restrictions and protests in the valley, people are forced to buy petrol and diesel in black on very high rates.
As per reports, petrol was being sold at Rs 150-180 per lt and diesel at Rs 130-150 per lt.
