No unanimity among KP organisations on return proposal | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 25: With Kashmiri Pandits talking in different tunes there seems to be no unanimity among the community on return proposal. While the protagonists of separate homeland for Pandits in Kashmir are themselves divided into splinter groups talking in different directions, there is also no unanimity among the non homeland organisations about the return formula. According to sources, lack of understanding on basic issues facing the community among its leadership has harmed community cause to a great extent. The failure of community leadership to come on a single platform and create a unanimous opinion on rehabilitation and return formula has provided government with an opportunity to put the return formula on back burner, sources added. Sources said the failure of community leadership to evolve a consensus will keep the migrants issue lingering for years together like PoK & west Pak refugees. Though homeland organizations have ruled out to budge from marg darshan resolution of 1991, the non homeland organisations too don't have a definite proposal on return, sources added. Sources said while ASKPC supports separate state for Kashmiri Pandits within valley with UT status but it does not show willingness to club its demand with homeland though both mean same in one way or other. Likewise KPC also demands Kashayap state with UT status and free flow of Indian constitution connotes same meaning as homeland still the protagonists of the demand want to keep themselves away from Panun Kashmir and not to support the homeland, sources added. Sources while terming the state of affairs disturbing in KP politics said, with no unanimity among the community leadership on basic issues the common displaced Pandit has to bear its burnt. Sources said the lack of consensus and unanimity on basic issues has given birth to scores of KP organisations who much to the advantage of Govt instead of highlighting the community cause in a right perspective are contradicting each other. |
