LC receives 286 CQs, 13 Resolution, 4 Private Members Bills | Rana, Sadhotra fail to submit requisitioned business | | Mustansir SRINAGAR, Sept 25: The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council has received 286 questions in total from its members to be taken up for discussion during the 7-days autumn session commencing from September 30 here at Srinagar. According to officials of the Council, MLC and provincial president National Conference, Jammu, Devinder Singh Rana has not submitted any questions for the legislative business while as all other members have submitted their requisitioned business to the Council secretariat. Sources in the Council secretariat told early times that Devinder Rana was the only member other than the Planning Minister Ajay Sadotra who has not submitted the requisitioned business to the Council Secretariat. They said the council secretariat has received 286 questions in all from its members which include 172 in starred category and 114 in un-starred category. They further added that out of total 9 resolutions received from the members, 8 have been allowed by the Chairman for discussion while as 1 resolution submitted by Abdul Majid Bhat of NC has been disallowed. Sources said the disallowed resolution was pertaining to the revocation of controversial Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA). Sources said the Council Secretariat has received 5 private members bills in all out of which 1 has been disallowed by the chairman. The members who have moved the resolutions include Sayed Asgar, Sayed Rafiq Ahmad Shah, Sham Lal Bhagat, Naresh Kumar Gupta, Subash Chander Gupta, Dr. Shanaz Ganai, Abdul Majid Bhat and Bashir Ahmad Magray. The members who have moved private members bills are Dr. Shahnawaz Ganai, Dr. Bashir Ahmad Veeri and Jugal Kishore. |
