Omar carrying legacy of breeding anti-India, anti-Army sentiment | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 25: Omar government has all guns blazing against former Army Chief General VK Singh in an attempt to dissuade public attention from its failure. The government is also undermining the credible work done by Army under operation Sadhbhawana, which was already under attack from the separatists. Omar Abdullah said the revelations made by the former army chief had made the job of politicians very difficult. Omar 's suggestion that the Army his attacking the democratic set up in the State is in line with his consistent stand against the Army . The Chief Minister has been consistently attacking Army on the issue of removal of AFSPA. He had about two-year back announced that Act will be revoked with even before the Durbar shifts to Jammu. He couldn't succeed in it and since then he has been consistently attacking the Army. Gen Singh also in his recent statement said that Omar has definite agenda and is making statements against the Army consistently. The National Conference has a history of infusing anti-India and anti-Army feelings amongst the people in Kashmir. It has used it to remain in power as after every disturbance it tried to project itself before the Centre that it is the only party which can control things in the valley and in the bargain had gained power in the State for the maximum period. The process on this line had started with late Sheikh Abdullah, it was carried by Farooq Abdullah and now the legacy is being carried forward by Omar Abdullah. The entire NC leadership has survived on creating anti-India feeling in the Valley and now with Army being in picture, and as it (army) represents the biggest face of India, it makes their job more convenient. The NC in the process is failing to read the writing on the wall. The nation and the State has moved far away from being fooled by mere sloganeering and they vote on governance and development rather than on allegations and counter propaganda. |
