Omar fails to time frame implementation of PM's employment package | Overage KP youth in dilemma | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 6: Dashing the hopes of displaced youth, Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah failed to make any commitment on the filling up of remaining 4500 posts under PM's employment package. Addressing a convention of Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) here the previous day, Omar did not make any reference to the PM's employment package and its time bound implementation. The CM also failed to make any commitment on the 221 over aged youth who did not appear in the previous merit list. These 221 youth had high expectations from CM and were hopeful that he will announce jobs for them. Omar Abdullah failed to give reasons for delay in implementation of PM's employment package and implementation of 6000 job package for displaced youth. Chief Minister also failed to give a time frame on the return of displaced Pandits to Valley or announce any model on which the coalition Government is working at present. Abdullah like his predecessors said that Kashmir was incomplete without Pandits and his Government was committed for their safe return but failed to disclose the blue print prepared by coalition in this regard. Abdullah also did not say a single word about the revised return package, the proposal for which was submitted to Union Government. To the discomfiture of KP community also no word of encouragement came from him for the welfare of over aged youth, though his party MLC Vijay Bakaya made a reference to the same. There has been lot of resentment among Kashmiri Pandits against attitude of Chief Minister and his Government towards the community who are in 25 year of exile. Senior KP leader professor AN Sadhu while criticizing the Chief Minister said yesterday's speech was nothing but effort to hoodwink the community when the elections are around the corner. KPs President Kundan Kashmiri also expressed the same views. However on positive assurance for the community was CM's announcement on shrine bill. Omar said that the bill will be tabled in the coming budget session and those who were opposed to it shall get exposed. He said NC has a clear stand on the bill and it was NC's Abdul Rahim Rather who tabled the bill on floor of Assembly as opposition leader. |
