Two Jammu based MLAs refused to accept proposal of "anti-national" AAP to contest Lok Sabha elections | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 6: Even as some so-called intellectuals have been trying to associate themselves with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), two MLAs of Jammu region have reportedly refused to accept proposal of "anti-national" AAP to contest coming Lok Sabha elections in Jammu region on its mandate. Sources said that AAP has established contact with two MLAs of Jammu region, who have been known for the credential to contesting the coming Lok Sabha elections on its mandate, but these MLAs have refused to associate themselves with anti-national AAP whose one of the ideologue has been supporting referendum in Jammu and Kashmir. Sources said that senior AAP leader Yoginder Yadav, due to his academic background, has contact with some intellectuals of Jammu region who suggested AAP names of two MLAs of Jammu region who is credentials and mass following. "A well wisher of AAP contacted these MLAs and offered them to contest coming Lok Sabha elections on the mandate of AAP on Jammu-Poonch and Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seats but these MLA flatly refused to become part of the 'anti-national' party", sources said and added that these MLAs have made it clear to the mediator that AAP should clear its stand on vexed Kashmir issue before approaching them. Interestingly large number of so-called intellectuals and disgruntle elements have been trying to associate themselves with AAP but not even a single politician of Jammu region has so far shown any interest in AAP because leadership of this party has been taking controversial stand on important issues which are directly related to the national interests. Although Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal has distanced himself from the controversial remarks of ideologue of AAP Prashant Bhushan, there is feeling among politicians of Jammu and Kashmir especially nationalist forces that AAP is toeing line of hardcore Hurriyat Conference so none of the politician of Jammu region dared to associate themselves with AAP. There is feeling among politicians of Jammu region unless Kejriwal take action against Prashant Bhushan stand of AAP on referendum and revocation of Armed Forces Special Power Act (AFSPA) is not clear. Important to mention here that virtually toeing line of Hurriyat Conference, AAP leader Prashant Bhushan has called for referendum in Jammu and Kashmir and demanded revocation of AFSPA. Sources said that one of the MLA with whom a mediator contact made it clear that he is happy to be an MLA instead of become part of the party which is furthering agenda of Kashmir based separatists. |
