Bijay Charak
Jammu, Oct 4 : It could be called the overlooking of Director Health Service (DHS) Jammu, who seven months back provided an x- ray machine to Rajiv Gandhi Hospital Gangyal, which has not been installed due to non-availability of space for the equipment. Reliable sources informed Early Times that in March, 2014 DHS Jammu Director Dr. BS Pathina provided a x-ray machine to hospital. However, being aware about non-availability of adequate space for the equipment, procured it, which is laying in a corner of the hospital's premises. He further said that Engineers of the company form where the x-ray machine was procured had paid at-least four visits for installation of the equipment but all in vain. Sources said that on one hand department deducts two percent of total payment, if supplier delays one day in supply, but surprisingly the suppliers were waiting for payment for years. "Repeated visits to these institutions have so far yielded no results. Whenever I approach the authorities for payment, they return us with fake assurances," he alleged and said it was very astoundingly that despite the availability of funds, the authorities were not making the payment even as some suppliers had got their payments. He said that when he urged the authorities to release the payments, they replied that the machinery supplied by him was yet not installed. "If they have not installed the machines, why they ordered us to supply them", said another supplier. When contacted, Medical Superintendent Government Rajiv Gandhi Hospital Gangyal Dr. Anju acknowledged that the x-ray machine was laying un-installed. "Since Housing and Urban Development Department (HUDD), the agency constructed additional block, where x-ray is to be installed, is not being handed over to the hospital authorities", she said. |
