| People who live on the borders are really great and courageous as they have experienced three wars with PAKISTAN in the past in 1965, 1971 and 1999. India fought another War but was with China in 1962 and it was fought far of from our Jammu territory. In INDO-PAK WARs- 1965 & 1971, Border people of Jammu , Samba and Kathua areas had shown the great courageousness and boldness in facing the challenges given by Pakistan in these wars. Not only this, they faced the problems but they always supported the Armed Forces in all the matters. All the times Pakistan takes 'PANGA' with our forces on one pretext or the other and made 'SHAITANIS' many a times and create panic in our front areas thereby demoralizing and damaging our brave people living just on the borders as also in the radius of 5 Km Patti.
Every time, they were subjected to forced evacuation by the Administration from their centuries old ancestral lands, even then they had not made any hue and cry on this score.
They are actually supplementing the role of the Saviour of our borders i.e.- Armed Forces in maintaining the calm and peace in the frontal areas in normal times. Over the years, they have well maintained their houses on the Borders and other belongings thereby spending lot of money out of their own financial resources. They are our Aan ,Baan, and Shaan and we are for them.
INTERNATIONAL BORDER (I.B.)
Border running between India and Pakistan is termed as an International Border abbreviated as I.B. It demarcates the Indian States and the 4 provinces of West Pakistan(W.P.). The International Border (IB) is running from the Line of control which separates our J&K and POK in the North to WAGAH line, which partitioned the Indian Panjab State and Panjab Province of Pakistan in the east ward. The zero point separates the Indian States of Gujarat & Rajasthan to Sindh Province of Pakistan in the South ward. Pakistan is not serious in maintaining the sanctity of the IB. Since Independence of India and Pakistan the IB re mained a site of numerous conflicts and wars between both the countries. Our IB is of the most complex borders in the World. The total length of the IB is 2900 Kms. It is also one of the most dangerous Borders in the World. IB can be seen from the space in the night due to the 0.15 million Flood Lights installed by India on about 50000 Poles. Pakistan always disturbed the peaceful 'MAAHOL' on the borders and made several cease fire violations.
CEASE FIRE VIOLATIONS AND BORDER /L.O.C. TENSIONS
Making Cease fire violations is a routine of the day . Pakistan off and on is doing on so . This year ceasefire violations are on the peak. With these Ceasefire violations, the people's lives of the IB have been made by Pakistan as meaning less with sleeplessness nights. Not only this , almost it is a continuous headache for the District Administration and the Army of course. In these cease fire violations, Pakistan always use heavy mortal and bombs shellings and caused big damages to the properties of the Border People.
BOOSTING OF MORALE OF ARMY AND BORDER PEOPLE
Just to give the moral support to the Border people, the Prime Minister of the Country Narender Modi and the Governor Vohra Sahib have already visited the Samba and Kathua areas. And the Union MoS in the PM's office Dr. Jatinder Singh is monitoring the latest position on daily basis besides the State Administration and the Army as well.
In the last visit Dr. Singh announced the giving of 5 marlas Plots to the border people at the safer places already identified by the Administration. to the 5000 identified Border tensions affected families of Jammu, Samba and Kathua. It is very much on the cards . On these plots, the houses would be built up for them by the Government. In case of such eventualities ( Cease Fire violations ), these Border people would be evacuated from the Borders and be kept at theses built houses during tensions and in normalcy they would be again be shifted to their houses on the Borders. Doing all this means that they will not to have to undergo such tortures and discomforts in such like eventualities.
INDO PAK WAR-1965
In 1965 Indo -Pak War, I were just 15 years of age and was studying in Pre University in GGM Science College, Jammu when this war started. The war was very ominous and dangerous one because we had not witnessed earlier, All around there was loss of lives of Jawans fighting on the borders and civilian too while remaining in their houses situated just near to International Border (IB). Besides great loss of human beings there were losses to the houses and other movable and immovable properties of the subjects of this land. Prior to the WAR, I attended a NCC camp at Jammu. At that time , NCC was compulsory for every one in the College and I were Corporal in NCC Air wing. Once I remained in the NCC Camp held at the backside of the College where HOSTEL is situated. We got the training in Rifles 303 and LMG and accordingly our rating was done and I got the A-1 grading and was awarded.
The moment WAR was declared by the Nation , People started coming to Jammu as Refugees and were placed at GGM Science College and at other places also. Since we were in the NCC at that time our duties were fixed by the authorities of the Government for the aid and help of the Refugees.
These are the memorable days when we recollect those days we become stunned as there was TABAHI -- TABAHI every where at that time which can not be narrated so easily in this article. Not to talk of our day duties, we were duty bound to attend the night duties in those days.
The Country was at the back and call of the Armed Forces as a 'CHATTAAN' behind them. The then Prime Minister of India Lal Bahadur Shastri ji raised the MORALE of the Armed Forces when he spoke on AIR as an address to the Nation as also when he made a Remarkable speech at RAM LEELA MAIDAAN AT NEW DELHI. Why I am trying to describe here that the NATION was One - There was no militancy in J&K, No Gorkha Land Andolan, No Naxalism, No Bodo Andolan and there was peace every where. Now a days the position is altogether different.
INDO-PAK WAR 1971
This WAR was started on 2nd December 1971 when Pakistan Air Force attacked India and bombed heavily our military and civilian areas in J&K, Panjab and Rajasthan and its Army started advancement towards our territory . This was altogether a different WAR which was fought against Pakistan under the strong and dynamic leadership of Smt. Indira Gandhi . It was imposed on us because Zulfikar Ali Bhutto took over as the Prime Minister of Pakistan against the mandate of the people of East and West Pakistan in favour of BANGH BANDU Sheikh Mujeebul Rehman who remained victorious in the elections and also was arrested and kept behind the bars. About one Lakh of refugees from earstwhile East Pakistan came to India and created many problems for us. In the meanwhile , India won the WAR and liberated East Pakistan from the clutches of the West Pakistan and in the process + 93000 Jawans and officers of the West Pakistan Armed Forces were made as Prisoners of War( POWs) including its Lt. General A.A.K. NIAZI who surrendered along with his forces before our Lt. General Jagjit Singh Arora. This way a full fledged Nation was created and named as BANGLADESH. Winning this WAR , Madame Gandhi proved as herself as the dashing and Iron Lady Prime Minister. At that time Atal Behari Vajpayee her main opponent in the LOK SABHA, described her as DURGA MATA KA AVTAR and made all out praise for her in this great victory.
INDO -PAK KARGIL WAR 1999
It was fought at Kargil in 1999.PAKISTAN NE PEETH KE PICHHAY CHHURA GOMPA. When this war began, Our then Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee ji was heaving a dialogue with PAKISTAN's PM Nawaz Sharif at Lahore. At that time , General Musharaf hatched a conspiracy against India and attacked at our territory of Kargil Ranges.
Pakistan army made several intrusions at several places in our territory and not only this, they made the concrete bunkers also. Indian armed Forces gave them the befitting reply and repulsed them back and got vacated our territory from hem after a severe battle and fight.
After that some normalcy prevailed on the Borders but Pakistan remained extra busy in sending the Militants across the IB and LOAC. Since one year and onwards,there are instances of Ceasefire Violations more then 250 times. Suchlike instances were also there during the UPA's Rule but army was not give the strict instructions for a betting reply to the PAK army but this time under NDAs Rule , clear cut standing instructions are to the ARMY for giving the 'Dushman' a befitting reply without taking the orders from the top.
The Indian Army on the Borders are absolutely free to take the on spot decisions on their own.
At present we are being ruled by the NDA in which BJP is the Single Largest Party who enjoys the Absolute Majority in Lok Sabha. It's not like UPA Government which was considered as a weak Government at the Centre. The GOI has given a clean chit/ orders to the Army to give a befitting reply to PAKISTAN suo moto without waiting for the Signal from the HQ. This is evidently clear that now the Government is fully determined to take the swift action on this score.
To me it looks that if Pakistan doesn't apply the restraints on its action and deeds, then it should remain ready for its disintegration. India will not tolerate anymore which Pakistan should note. Yesterday only our Home Minister Raj Nath Singh warned Pakistan to mend its ways. Pakistan should not take the warning so lightly.Our present PM Narendar Modi exceptionally a different personality who can take any swift action in favour of the Nation to set right Pakistan in the days to come.Lot of more is there to pen but I am winding up my article at this stage only. |
