POONCH, Jan 19: Organised by the Hockey Poonch under the aegis of Hockey Jammu and Kashmir, the District Poonch Hockey Championship for junior boys got underway at Sports Stadium, here today.
In the opening match of the event, Poonch Hockey Club blanked Baba Bandha Singh Bahadur Club making it a big 7-0 win. Gurjot (sixth and 19th) and Ishtiaq (17th and 41st) were the main strikers, who added two goals each while Imran (44th), Vishal (46th) and Sohail Azeem (59th) were other scorers.
The inaugural match was officiated by the technical penal comprising Mukesh Kumar, Rohit Sharma, Vikas Sharma and Amandeep Singh. Earlier, the competition declared open by Zonal Physical Education officer (ZPEO), Mangali, Narjeet Singh, who was chief guest. He was accompanied by Nirdosh Kumar, Ravinder Singh and Mushtaq Ahmed. |
