KISHTWAR, Jan 19: Timely action by Police, Fire Services Department and locals prevented a major tragedy at Mata Ashtdast Bujja temple commonly known as Mata Sarthal Devi temple, were a fire broke out today evening.
As per the details available with "Early times" the fire broke out inside a fire wood stock adjacent to temple threatening the historical temple and its night shelter buildings along with the densely residential area situated in and around the temple. As soon as the news of the fire reached Kishtwar, District administration along with Police team comprising Dy. SP HQ Nazir Ahmed Ganie and SHO police station Kishtwar Sameer Geelani immediately rushed to the spot along with fire tenders. After battling for nearly two hours, the flames were brought under control, averting major tragedy. The local people who were part of the rescue operation hailed the role of Kishtwar police and administration for timely action which not only saved the temple, but also saved the life and property of poor people. |
