| Ranbir, Pratap, Kathua canals to be closed for annual maintenance | | | JAMMU, Feb 27 : Chief Engineer, Irrigation and Flood Control Department Jammu has informed that the Main Ranbir Canal, Partap Canal, Kathua Canal and their distribution system have been closed for annual maintenance and desilting in order to ensure adequate water supply upto the tail end portion during Kharif Season.
The general public residing nearby both the banks of main Ranbir Canal, Partap Canal, Kathua Canal and their distribution system especially in urban areas are requested to desist from throwing garbage, polythene bags, solid waste and other waste material in the Canal and its distribution system. Any person found throwing garbage, polythene bags and any waste material into the Canals and its distribution system shall be punishable under J&K Water Resources and Management Act 2010 and Rules 2011 and the Police Department shall be approached for taking action under rules. |
