Jammu, Feb 27: Following a scuffle between a doctor and two attendants of a patient near Chopra Nursing Home (GMC Hospital), doctors in Emergency ward and isolated ward where H1N1 infected patients are undergoing treatment suspended their works and went to strike in protest. Police sources said, "Two persons identified as Rafakat Hussain son of Aijaz Hussain of Bathandi and Mohammed Ali son of Tasaduk Hussain of Bathandi had come in the hospital for swine flu screening." "As the flu scare is on and the Flu Emergency is witnessing huge rush, the duo entered into an argument with a doctor standing near the nursing home, sources said. "The heated arguments took ugly turn when the duo allegedly assaulted the doctor prompting strike from the doctor in GMC hospital," the police sources said further adding doctors have moved a complaint with the police requesting to lodge case against the two persons." "As the doctors went on strike from emergency and isolated wards to register their resentment, police sources said. "Police acting swiftly registered a case against alleged accused under FIR No 21 and secured their arrest also, police sources added, and added, " the duo has been presently lodged into Bakshi Nagar Police Station while further investigation is on. Sources maintained however police have registered a case against accused and arrested them yet the doctors have not called off their strike till last report came in and were demonstrating in the premises of the GMC Hospital against the alleged 'assault incident'. |
