MENDHAR, Feb 27 : In sheer unjustice to students, a government middle school at Nar Balnoi in Mankote block here has one teacher for 60 students of eight classes, ie class Ist to 8th. Of the other two teachers, one is alleged to be unauthorisedly absent from duty while the other has managed her attachment to some other government school in the area. Mohammad Arif is the only teacher who is managing the school affairs. Farzana Kousar, another teacher, is attached to some other Mendhar school. One Neetu Bala joined in January last but she did not turn up after that, official sources alleged. Deputy chief education officer (CEO) Mohammad Azad alleged that during his recent visit to the school, he too had found Neetu absent from duty. "I have already asked to mark her absent," he claimed, saying that no leave had been sanctioned in her favour.SDM, Mendhar, said he would enquire into the matter. "As the school's old building has been declared unsafe, construction of new block was started some time back, keeping in view the safety of students and teaching staff but the contractor has not turned up after completing the work up to the plinth level," sources said. The deputy CEO said the contractor was likely to be changed for early completion of work. |
