JAMMU, Feb 27 : Castigating health authorities for failing in combating Swine Flu (H1N1) outbreak, the Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) said today that despite the Doctors Association Kashmir had sounded an alert for such an epidemic few months back no concrete steps were taken. In a press statement issued today, EJAC president Abdul Qayoom Wani said that Swine Flu has so far infected thousands of people and caused 9 deaths due to the laxity of health authorities who slept over it which resulted in loss of precious lives. He alleged that there are no drugs, vaccines, masks or equipments available thus risking human lives adding that it is surprising that authorities are not utilizing the services of expert of H1N1 doctor Nisar-ul-Hussan, whose expertise could come handy in such a critical situtaion. EJAC President Abdul Quyoom Wani appealed Governor N N Vohra and Chief Secretary Mohd Iqbal Khanday for their personal intervention to reinstate H1 N1 Specialist Doctor Nisar-ul-Hussain President Doctors Association Kashmir who has always helped the poor patients and always raised the voice against the injustice. |
