 BILLAWAR, Feb 27: Career counseling cell of the Government Degree College, Billawar organized workshop on "Career Prospects in Civil Services". Tehsildar Billawar Dr Manmeet Kumar and BDO Lohai Malhar Er. Ankush Hans were the expert speakers. The workshop was presided over by Principal Dr Netar Singh. Er. Ankush Hans briefed the students about the pattern of the Union Civil Services (IAS, IPS, IFoS, IRS etc.) examinations conducted by Union Public Service Commission. He dwelt extensively on the selection of optional, areas of focus and marks distribution in all the three stages (Preliminary, Mains and Interview) and spelt out the importance of reading news papers, watching and listening qualitative news. Dr. Manmeet Kumar Mottan focused mainly on KAS examination conducted by Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission. He stressed upon the students about the importance of writing skills in the Mains stage of the examination and advised them to be honest while facing the final interview stage.
Principal of the college also spoke on the occasion and in his lecture he motivated the students to think higher in their life as they have all the qualities including sincerity, honesty and determination. |
