HC stays JEs selection list | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Feb 27: The J&K High Court today issued notice to State government and Service Selection Board on a petition, challenging criteria in the recently declared select list of Junior Engineers. "In the meantime subjected to the objections by other side, selection made shall not be acted upon," a bench of Justice Hasnain Massodi directed after hearing a petition titled Nazia Aslam and others Vs state and others through senior advocate Z A Shah. The petitioners are seeking quashment of notice by SSB on 10-05-2004 by virtue of which common criteria was issued for the selection of the JE advertised through three separate notifications. "The SSB be directed to prepare a fresh select list of the candidates for the post of JE without awarding 05 points to degree holders and subjecting all the candidates to the common standard of 100 points," the petitioners have said. The three advertisements include 03 of 2012 dated 29-12-2012-by this notification advertisement applications were invited in PHE and I&FC department for filling up of 115; advertisement No.3 of 2013 dated 18-02-2013, inviting applications for JE (civil) and posts advertised were 100 and another notice 11 of 2013 dated 24-12-2013 for filling up of 418 posts in R&B Department. The selection list was released by the SSB on February 16. |
