POONCH, Feb 27: With an aim to promote sports among young boys and girls of the border district, District Police organised two exhibition matches at Sports Stadium, here under Civic Action Programme. In the girls match, Power House Hockey Club (PHHC) defeated Stadium XI by a solitary goal. The only goal came through Ishita Sudan, who netted the ball in the eighth minute. Earlier, the teams interacted with Additional Deputy Commissioner, Poonch, Arvind Sharma, who was chief guest. He was accompanied by vice president of Hockey J&K, Sham Lal Sharma, senior advocate, Sanjay Raina, Incharge DYSSO, Sarala Bakshi, Deepak Dingra (DySP HQ), Khalid Mir (DySP DAR), Zeeshan Bhat (DySP OP), Nirdosh Sharma, Prem Prakash Luthra and Rajinder Singh. In another exhibition match of the boys won by Stadium XI beating Government Boys Higher Secondary School Pooch 4-1. Sohail remained star striker who scored in the 46th and 56th minute while Rohit Ranyal and Sanjeev were other scorers, who netted the ball in 52nd and 53rd minute respectively. From GBHSS Pooch, Gurdev was lone scorer, who struck in the eighth minute of the match. Padamshri, Shambu Nath Khajuria was special guest in the second boys match. Today's matches officiated by the technical penal including Vikas Sharma, Gurmeet Singh, Narinder Singh and Pawan Kumar. Both these guests appreciated the efforts of the district police in involving the youth in sports activities thus providing them a platform to excel. |
