BGSBU organizes national workshop on 'Wireless, Computer Networks' | | | Early Times Repor
Rajouri , Feb 27: To aware the youth about the latest technology being used in networking, department of Computer Sciences in collaboration with National Knowledge Network (NKN) of BGSBU organize two days 'National Workshop" on Wireless and Computer Networks (WCN) . More than 200 students from various study centers taking part in this workshop organized under the patronship of Prof I A Hamal, Vice Chancellor of host university. The project is being assisted by Registrar Mohammad Rashid Chowdhary and Prof AK Koul, Dean Academic Affairs. Prof Mohammad Asghar is a Convener of the workshop while Dr Sanjay Jamwal of the Department of Computer Sciences is Organising Secretary. On the occasion, Organising Secretary and Nodal Officer of National Knowledge Network Dr Sanjay Jamwal threw light on the objective of the workshop while proceedings were held by Research Scholar Mir Aadil. Jamwal also introduced the participants with NKN saying that the idea of setting up a National Knowledge Network first emerged through deliberations between the office of Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India and the National Knowledge Commission. This was followed by extensive discussions with key stakeholders including experts, potential users, telecom service providers, educational and research institutions, which resulted in the design of the National Knowledge Network. A technical first session was held by Gurpreet Singh, a networking and internet expert while afternoon session was held by recipient of All India Teachers Award by AICTE, Dr Atul Gonsai, Associate Professor of Saurashtra University, Rajkot Gujrat. |
