10 yrs RI awarded to two including husband in abetment to suicide case | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 2(JNF): Principal Sessions Judge Kishtwar Ms.Bala Joyti awarded 10 years Rigorous Imprisonment and fine Rs 10000 to one Mool Raj and his father facing trial in abatement to suicide. After hearing both sides, Principal Sessions Judge Kishtwar Ms Bala Joyti convicted both the accused are therefore sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment u/s 498-A RPC of 3 years and fine of Rs. 5000/- each in default of payment of fine he shall further undergo simple imprisonment for six months and an rigorous imprisonment of seven years u/s 306 RPC alongwith fine of Rs 5000/- each and in default of payment of fine, shall further undergo simple imprisonment of Six Months. Court further clarified that both the sentences will run concurrently. Prosecution case stated one Sushma got married to accused Mool Raj in 2008 against the wishes of her parents and the marriage took place at accused's house according to Hindu rites and ceremonies. On 07/04/2009 the lady was found dead in accused's house. Smt Chander Prabha telephonically intimated deceased's parents about death who arrived in the evening. When asked deceased's in-laws family told them that she had abdomen pain at night due to which she has died. However while performing rituals deceased's mother noticed some suspicious marks on neck of dead body and stealthy informed her husband who reported the matter to police. A report was lodged at Police Station Kishtwar and FIR No.140/2009 u/s 498-A and 306 RPC was registered. |
