Demanding renovation of canals, locals protest against Irrigation Deptt 4/2/2015 11:49:06 PM Early Times Report Kathua, Apr 2: Alleging no de-silting and repair of canals, the inhabitants of Ward -1 of Kathua today staged protest demonstration against Irrigation department and demanded that irrigation department yet have not renovated the canal in the area. The protest was led by Meera Rani, a house wife, who while addressing the protestors said that department has neglect different canals of the city. She pointed out damaged and blockage the canal of W-1 and added the canal has got blocked and water flows to lanes of the locality. Meera sought immediate renovation of the canal so as the water could be collected and mitigate the suffering of the public. Ram Lal, a local, alleged on Irrigation department to ignore the suffering of the public as matter has been discussed several times before the department but nothing has been done till date.
