Early Times Report

Kathua, Apr 2 : Shortage of traffic signal lights and sufficient police men usually bring frequent accidents and traffic wedges on National Highway right from Lakhanpur to Srinagar especially up to Jammu. Thousands of vehicles ply everyday on National Highway 1 but how many of them follow traffic rules that trigger several traffic wedges and open cause of accidents. The traffic police have sufficient staff and no doubt men are deployed on each divider in different bus stops but how many of them perform their duties efficiently it's not unknown to everyone moving on the road. How is responsible for frequent mishaps on National Highway where hundreds of people lost their lives every year? Transport department issued driving licenses to applicants after fulfillment of few mandatory formalities but nobody takes initiative to conduct driving institutions and skilled developed programmes to train drivers for smooth driving with patience and skills. Government constructed several dividers on road but no traffic light has been set up in any of divider on National Highway that causes frequent mishap on the road. There must be traffic lights or traffic men to direct drivers while crossing the road which would mitigate mishaps.
Traffic rules must be displayed on hoardings to aware the public so they must keep in mind such rules while driving.
Apposite bus stops and their timing of plying must also be noted by Transport department to mitigate unnecessary mishaps and collisions on the National Highway.
