Naeem Akhtar for improving school infrastructure | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 3 : The Minister for Education, Naeem Akhtar, has framed a policy for improving infrastructure of scores of schools in the rural areas where the rate of school drop outs has increased because of the lack of basic facilities, especially that of toilets and drinking water. Official sources said that Naeem Akhtar has decided to constitute a team of experts in the education sector who whose members would tour various areas in the state and submit a detailed report to the minister on the need for renovating or rebuilding the infrastructure in the schools. The Minister aims at developing the basic infrastructure in the schools for girls so that there is considerable improvement in the enrollment of females in the schools. In addition to this minister has plans of motivating owners of coaching centers to register their centers with the education Department so that the Government keeps an eye on their functioning. One Government report said that against over 150 coaching centres functioning in the state only two to three were registered and Naeem Akhtar is committed to remove this irregularity. |
