Absconders later turned into bovine smugglers, arrested Panic grips in Kathua as Army opens fire at suspicious persons

Jammu/Kathua, Apr 3: Panic griped in Kathua after Army opened fire at the vehicle which broke the checking barrier falling under Rajbagh Police Station and sped up from the spot forcing naka team to open fire at the miscreants.
Following the incident, a massive search operation was launched jointly by police and army, however, later the absconders turned into bovine smugglers.
According to police sources, Rajbagh police have registered a case after arresting one of the bovine smugglers while hunt for the rest of the two was on.
"During the search operation, the Police also have seized the vehicle and recovered 05 bovine animals, police sources said and adding, "arrested has been identified namely as Murad Ali s/o Tej Ali of Sarore." Sources said, "During interrogation, the accused informed police that the bovine animals were loaded illegally from Beli Charna,Jammu."
As per reports, the incident took place at the early morning hours of Friday when a Tata Pickup vehicle with covered body moving from the direction of Rajbagh, crashed across a check post established in area Hariyachak and moved southwards. "It disregarded the warning signals of the naka team/sentries at the barrier and sped up; thereby confirming malafide intentions, sources said and added, "the check post personnel fired three aimed shots at the vehicle's tyres which was driven speedily by the driver."
Later the vehicle was apprehended from a Bakarwal dera in general area Mukundpur with three buffaloes inside the vehicle.
Meanwhile Defence Spokesperson Jammu Lt Col Manish Mehta said, "Following the recent terrorist incidents in Rajbagh and Samba, Army and J&K police have further strengthened joint efforts to dominate the Kathua Samba Sector and all suspicious movements of vehicles and personnel are being checked with well coordinated check posts being selectively deployed."
Meanwhile, SSP Kathua Neva Jain when contacted said that keeping in view of the sensitivity of the area which has always remained vulnerable, a naka was laid at Hariyachak and when the vehicle ignored halt signal a joint search operation of police and army was launched and finally, overpowered the accused person who later turned to be bovine smuggler, adding, hunt for the rest of the accused was on.
