World Homoeopathy Day: April 10 | | | Dr. Satish Kumar Attri
10th of April every year is observed as World Homoeopathy day on birth anniversary of the founder of homoeopathy Dr. C F S Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843) as he born on this day in Saxony of Germany. He was a Allopathic M.D. He discovered Homoeopathy over two hundred years ago, after leaving Allopathic practice. He was born to a poor family of a porcelain Painter, but being enthuastic he studied hard and had a good command on about a dozen of languages. Since 1796 the system has been clinically tested & verified experimentally to be very effective and had saved suffering humanity for over two centuries and has emerged as a time-tested therapy. The principles drawn by Dr.Hahnemann are universal in nature and well proved. Homoeopathy is rapidly growing & the second most popular system of treatment. In USA, England, France, Russia and Germany more than 40% people use homoeopathy. In India Homoeopathy came with A French Dr. J M Honigberger who arrived Lahore in 1829 and later on treated the great ruler of Punjab Maharaja Ranjit Singh. However homoeopathy came to India in 1810 when a German geologist who came for survey & freely distributed homoeopathic medicines. In India around 189 colleges are offering graduate level courses and some colleges are offering MD & PHD in homoeopathy also. Homoeopathy in J&K got an official recognition & patronage of state Govt with the kind attention of Hon'ble minister CH.LAL SINGH during his first tenure as Minister of Health & Medical Education, with the passing of the J&K Homoeopathic practitioners Act-2003 and consequently The J&K Board of Homoeopathic System of Medicine was structured in 2004 to regulate the practice of Homoeopathy. Dr. Bodh Raj Dubb (Founder President of J&K Homoeopathy Board) also worked as a missionary for establishing & uplifting Homoeopathy in J&K. However there are many other Homoeopaths who worked for the awareness & upliftment of homoeopathy. Homoeopathy is being practiced by many people in J&K since olden times. At present there are only 31 medical officers in whole state and more than150 unemployed qualified Homoeopaths who needs a Special recruitment policy. If Separate wings in every Hospital will be started than public will get benefited at large. Recruitment of part-B registered as pharmacists along with medical officers is also needed. Like other states of country establishment of Homoeopathic Medical College & hospitals, library and Research centers for doctors, Regular CME's at Govt. level for the practioners are needed to promote homoeopathy and awareness programmes are much needed. Homoeopathy is an equal component of AYUSH and thus Homoeopaths of J&K had lots of hopes from the present Health Minister as he had given a proper recognition to homoeopathy in J&K. Homeopathy treats the patient as a whole, not the specific disease. That's why a homeopathic specialist can treat and cure any sort of diseases. So all with one doctor-one medicine and on one place. Homoeopaths around the world are finding great success in genetic disorders with homoeopathy. Homeopath select treatment plan according to a total picture of the patient, including not only physical symptoms but lifestyle, emotional and mental states, and other genetic factors. Homoeopathic treatment of pregnant mother and children help to prevent many diseases and particular tendency of any individual towards any disease can be prevented. Even surgeries can be avoided with homoeopathic treatment in some cases. Homoeopathy is also very effective in treatment of genetic disorders and advanced stages of all diseases and had permanent cure in hopeless & incurable labelled diseases. A Homoeopath had scientific art & keen knowledge to observe which is very much needed to cure the patient. Homeopathic medicines are prepared mostly from natural sources. Thus homoeopathy is a natural method of treatment & its based on such principles which are universal. |
