Administrative incompetency jeopardize KAS aspirants' careers | Preliminary exams postponed for third time | | Arun Singh
Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 5: Consecutive postponement of Jammu and Kashmir Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination for the third time has frustrated the aspirants whose crucial time period of the career is being killed due to non serious approach of the administrative authority. The aspirants of Kashmir Administrative Services (KAS) who applied for 51 posts in 2014 are in great distress due to failure of Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) to hold the examination. "The reason behind the postponement of preliminary examination has been attributed to headless JKPSC. Pertinent to mention, Governor NN Vohra returned the file of panel without giving consent due to non compliance of guidelines. They said that new Government led by People Democratic Party and Bhartiya Janta Party (PDP-BJP) had finalized the panel of six including Chairman and five members and the file of same was sent to Governor for his nod but it was later returned by the Governor House due to non adherence of guidelines mainly not submitting Vigilance clearance, APRs and certain other documents of the proposed Panel by the General Administration Department (GAD). "The lackadaisical attitude of the concerned authority for not holding preliminary exams for KAS has caused frustration among us and we are in now dilemma as what to do. The issue which is now bothering us is that in next two months the entrance examinations for admission in various universities will be held and we are afraid that the KAS prelim exams date or date of entrance examination of various universities may clash which can cause damage to our career," said a KAS aspirant preferring anonymity. The Government as well as concerned authority seems totally insensitive towards the KAS aspirants by not holding prelim exams and left us in lurch, he added. Pertinently, on January 8, 2015 PSC issued first notification for holding examination on March 1 but on February 21 PSC issued another notification, postponing prelims and later on March 20, it again issued notification of rescheduling exams date on April 5, but PSC against making mockery of the KAS aspirant, had postponed the exams date for till further order. |
