SRINAGAR, Apr 5: For better results in the administration the state government is all set to frame a special mechanism to fight the 'additional charge syndrome' to ease out pressure from the officers.
Sources told Early Times that government is taking many steps to revamp the administration. "It is true that some officers are sharing additional responsibilities, but the government is working out a plan of action to ease out their burden," sources said, adding that Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed is serious to re-energize the bureaucratic set-up for 'better performance.'
"Chief Minister has sought list of officials who are holding additional charges. CM wants complete transparency and accountability in the administration. Though the deputation is a continuous process the government may press the Government of India for return of some more officers who are currently on central deputation," sources said.
The BJP-PDP coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir did a major reshuffle in the administration and police. Interestingly the government attached six senior officials, including an IAS officer with the General Administration Department (GAD).
Senior IAS officer Vinod Koul was transferred from the post of the Secretary, Revenue Department, and was asked to report to the GAD and await further orders. Another senior officer Kiran Wattal, who was removed from Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), was ordered to report to the GAD and await further orders. Daleep Thusu, who was Secretary, Jammu & Kashmir State Sports Council, was also shown the door and asked to await further orders in the GAD.
Similarly, KAS officer and Project Director, Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan, Mir Tariq Ali, was also removed and asked to report to the (GAD) and await further orders. Another KAS officer Talat Parvez Rohella, was shifted from Deputy Commissioner Baramulla was asked to report to the GAD and await further orders. G N Qasba, another officer, was shifted from Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) and asked to report to the GAD for further orders. |
