Jammu, Apr 5: A Sub Inspector of commercial tax department was booked for beating a journalist, here at Lakhanpur Toll Plaza on Sunday. The accused has been identified as Brij Paul Singh.
Lakhanpur police booked him u/s 382,323,504,506 RPC against FIR No 21/2015.
The incident took place during Transport Minister's visit at Toll Plaza. As per reports, the victim namely Sarabjeet Singh was on duty when he was assaulted by the SI. The complainant in his police complaint has alleged that he was deputed for the coverage of the minister's visit at Toll Plaza.He was covering the event when Brij Paul, SI of Commercial Tax Department, started beating him of his no fault.His mobile handset was also got damaged. Police took the victim to the hospital for medical treatment. Later, police lodged FIR against the accused. |
