JAMMU, Apr 13: In a meeting held today under the chairmanship of its President Advocate Abhinav Sharma, condemned and opposed the decision of the Central Govt for setting up of an all India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Kashmir in State of Jammu & Kashmir. In the meeting, the members of the Association held the Union Govt responsible for giving step motherly treatment to people from Jammu Division once again. It was discussed further in meeting that once while presenting General Budget, the Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley announced on 28-02-2015, the setting up of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Jammu and proposed a total sum of Rs 2206 Crores for financial year 2015-60 for setting up of AIIMS in five stages including State of J&K at Jammu, how and why the decision has been changed for setting up the India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Kashmir. Meeting also resolved that the Central Govt should reconsider its decision and withdraw the decision of setting up of AIIMS in Kashmir, in view of categorical announcement on 28/02/2015 by Union Finance Minister to set up AIIMS at Jammu as setting up of AIIMS at Jammu would be in the larger interest of not only the people of State of J&K, but of adjoining States including State of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana as well. Vice President Pranav Kohli, Secretary General AP Singh, Joint Secretary Depesh Singh Pawar, Cashier Rahul Sharma, YLA President Daljeet Singh Manhas and Vice President YLA Pardeep Majotra were present in this meeting. |
