Paharis demand Chairman for Advisory Board from community | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Apr 13: Pahari Speaking Community leaders have demanded immediate appointment of Vice Chairman of Pahari Advisory Board from the Pahari Community. "In order to streamline the functioning of Pahari Advisory Board, which has become the victim of continuous Political interference and being run by anti-Pahari community elements, the Board must be headed by a member from Pahari community " said Vijay Kochar and Abdul Rehman Mirza, the Pahari community leaders. Community leaders have alleged that some anti-Pahari community elements for their vested interests have been creating obstacles in giving 5% reservations to the Pahari Community people and 2% reservation to OBCs. This announcement was made by the Omar Abdullaha lead coalition before the commencing of 2014 Assembly Elections and the bill was reportedly sent for the Governor's clearance. Pahari leaders including advocate Abdul Qadir Khan and advocate Wahid Khan both Pahari Youth Front leaders alleged that some anti-Pahari elements playing villain's role in the passing of this bill and warned a large scale protest demonstration in case the bill was not passed. Shahbaz Khan, executive chairman , Jammu Kashmir Pahari People Movement (JKPPM) said that the government must appoint Vice Chairman of Pahari Advisiory Board (PAB) with immediate effect and it should be headed byVibodh Gupta a dynamic and young leader from Rajouri city. Tajinder Singh, Rajinder Singh, Imran Khan and Mohd Tariq Khan of Pahari Youth Action Committee (PYAC) too have appealed to the community members to be prepared for their rights including passing of reservation bill and Schedule Tribe (ST) Status for the community. |
