| JKNPP rallies out against BJP's surrender over AIIMS | | | Early Times Report
Ramban, Apr 13: Intensifying its agitation at District level for the restoration of AIIMS back to Jammu region JKNPP took out a mammoth 'protest rally' at Ramban under the leadership of Balwant Singh Mankotia State President JKNPP.
Several other leaders of the District unit of Panthers Party, PTU (Panthers Trade Union) and Young Panthers also participated in this rally held at Bus Stand Ramban. Later protestors took out protest rally which after passing through various markets of Ramban culminated at the Office of the Deputy Commissioner Ramban.
While addressing protestors, Balwant Mankotia accused the BJP which had climbed the ladder of power on the slogan of 'Empowerment of Jammu' gave the biggest shocker to Jammuites by surrendering the most prestigious Rs 1600 Cr AIIMS to Kashmir despite the same having been sanctioned for Jammu. He reminded the BJP of the statements made by two Union Ministers including the Minister of Finance Arun Jaitley in New Delhi on February 28 announcing the said premier health institute in Jammu.
Mankotia said that Kashmir already has a super specialty institute named SKIMS Soura which is well equipped with advanced technology capable of providing specialized treatment for all kinds of ailments. Further, he said, the Chief Minister had recently announced an additional Rs 150 crores for up -gradation of cancer institute in SKIMS. Despite that the BJP leadership failed to seek the establishment of AIIMS in Jammu and allowed its high jacking to Kashmir thus administering the most obnoxious doze of discrimination to Jammu region.
Mankotia regretted that the BJP had offered the most precious and coveted Rs. 1600 Crores AIIMS project on a platter to its Kashmir bosses merely to appease them. He lambasted the BJP legislators for their criminal silence over the significant issue during the three week long Assembly Session in which they failed to rake up any of the Jammu based issues including the surrender of AIIMS Jammu by the Saffron Party. While reminding the BJP of its jingoistic harangues to end the age old socio-political discrimination with Jammu region, he said that the BJP has entered into a worst ever 'politically debauchery' with its coalition partner for the crumbs of power at the cost of the people's aspirations. Balwant further admonished the BJP for its meek surrender over the issue of Dogra Certificate and its criminal silence over the issue of bringing legislation for delimitation of Assembly constituencies in the state so as to address the long pending demand of Jammu Pradesh. |
