VRS Union criticizes transport authorities for delay in dues | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 13 : VRS Union, under the chairmanship of its president Dev Raj Bali and its general secretary Surinder Singh held a protest demonstration in connection with delay in their dues at Press Club Exhibition ground, here today. They criticized Jammu and Kashmir Transport authorities and the Finance Department for not releasing the long pending dues of VRS employees. They said dues of 126 slabs and arrears since 1999 amounting to Rs 30 crores is pending with J&K SRTC, adding despite repeated reminders the concerned authorities hardly pay any heed. And it was promised at the time of VRS that one who took the VRS his dues will be cleared within 60 days but alas for the last 5 years we have been suffering. And our miseries can be well gauged that 9 VRS employees died in this struggle of 5 years as they could not afford the funds for their treatment as they had not funds. And now we finally appeal to the Finance Minister J&K to please come to our rescue and our pending dues be cleared whereas our bills are ready and lying in the office of the Finance Department Civil Sectt.
