Residents protest against PHE, demand drinking water supply 4/15/2015 12:27:50 AM Early Times Report Kathua, Apr 14: Residents of village Ramnagar, Panchayat Gandayal today staged protest demonstration in front of the office of XEn PHE (civil wing). The protest was led by Anju Bala accompanied by dozens of villagers who sought drinking water supply and water connections in the village. The protesters appraised that the village deprived off PHE water supply and people used dirty water for drinking and other purposes. They said scarcity of drinking water supply affected livelihood of 400 families who staged several protests in previous days to set up PHE water connection in the village but nothing has been done till date. Anju counted the Mal-functioning of the department and said people raised the issue before authority who did nothing than assurance. When contacted to Taj Mohd XEn, he flayed all allegations and said everything is fine in the area but people might protest against PHE employee due to their personal misunderstanding with him. He offered all to check the functioning of the PHE department in the village. He said Tube-well, OST and other facilities are being provided to the villagers.
