Two bootleggers held with illicit liquor 5/9/2015 10:18:08 PM Early Times Report Udhampur, May 9: Continuing its drive against bootleggers, drug peddlers other anti social elements including bovine smugglers, Udhampur police today arrested two bootleggers in two separate incidents and seized 30 pouches of illicit liquor, besides 20 litres of lahn (illicit liquor) their possession. Police sources said, "Police team intercepted one person identified as Krishan Singh s/o Shiv Datt of Pakhlai -Udhampur at in Lal Chowk Udhampur and during search of his belongings the police team recovered 30 pouches of 250 ML J&K Excise (Desi Whisky) from his possession. "In this connection, a case under section 48A Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur, police sources said. Meanwhile Panchari police seized 20 Liters lahn and one and half Bottles illicit liquor from one person at village Sadal in Pajar Tahsil Udhampur. "The accused has been identified as Sham Lal s/o Mindeya of Sadal Panjar Tahsil, police sources said.
