As Film Makers start landing in Kashmir, Govt enhancing infrastructure | Mufti's Mumbai tour yields results | | Javaid Naikoo Early Times Report
srinagar, May 9: As Bollywood teams have started arriving in Kashmir, the government has decided to provide the required facilities to them. Addressing a joint Press Conference here today, Shalinder Kumar, Commissioner Tourism said that government is all set to go with a single window clearance system wherein filmmakers can provide details of locations they want to shoot at in advance so that government can fulfill their requirements aptly. He said that whatever is required will be provided to the Bollywood teams within seven days. He said government was keen to change the wrong perceptions about Kashmir. The Press conference which was also addressed by the crew of the forthcoming movie "Welcome 2 Karachi" who are in Kashmir as part of their three-day promotional tour of the movie. Producer Vashu Bhagnani said that they are happy to come to Kashmir for the film promotion and they feel good to start the promotion from such a beautiful place called Kashmir. He said that hopefully next year they will shoot another movie in Kashmir and while sharing details of the movie they are shooting right now, he said that movie was shot in different parts of the United Kingdom like Wales, Birmingham and Bradford. Noted Actor Arshad Warsi and Jackky Bhagnani are in lead roles of the movie and the film is about two innocent guys who start their journey from Gujarat coast on a boat and reach Karachi of Pakistan, without any travel documents. Film makers while praising Kashmir said that Kashmir is 10 times more beautiful than what they had heard and added more films should be promoted here so that Kashmir would be the first choice for film makers in future of both Bollywood and Hollywood. Actress Lauren Gottlieb, who plays the role of an intelligence officer in the movie, said that 'People here are lovable and affectionate and It is a great feeling to be in Kashmir. Bollywood Actor, Salman Khan was already shooting for his "Bajrangi Baijaan" in Kashmir last week and after getting bail for his cases, Khan according to reports is likely visit Kashmir again later next week with lead female actress Kareena Kapoor to complete his last scenes in the film. This is the first film promotional tour in Kashmir of Bollywood actors after the Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Syed visited Mumbai last week to woo the film industry. Pertinently around 10 lakh tourists visit Kashmir every year, besides Amarnath pilgrims from different parts of the world. |
