Shares dais with CM, silences his critics | Finally Mehboob joins PDP | | Early Times Report
Anantnag, May 9: Months after quitting National Conference (NC), former member parliament, Dr Mehboob Beig on Saturday formally joined Peoples Democratic Party and shared dais with Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Syed at several places. Beg was accompanying the Chief Minister during the daylong visit along with several other PDP leaders including General secretary Rafi Ahmad Mir. Chief Minister was also accompanied by senior cabinet ministers including Minister for Horticulture, Haj & Auqaf, A. R. Veeri, and Minister for Public Works, Floriculture, Gardens & Parks, Syed Altaf Bukhari. MLA's and Raja Saba Member from Kulgam Nazir Ahmad Laway too accompanied Chief Minister. Although, Mehboob Beg remained silent and couldn't muster courage for interfering into the issue of delay in completion of new blocks of District Hospital Anantnag, however he sent a strong message to NC which according to sources was ridiculing Beg for supporting PDP in assembly elections. "People in NC were cracking jokes on him (Mehboob Beg). Some might he telling that PDP backstabbed him but today Beg silenced them after he shared dais with the Chief Minister," close aid of Beg told Early Times. On November 16 last year, Dr Mehboob Beig- son of Mirza Mohmmad Afzal Beig one of the founding member of the NC announced that he will launch door to door campaign for Mufti Mohammad Syed and refused to contest from Anantnag assembly segment, while accusing National Conference of committing irregularities and wrongdoings in job recruitments. Meanwhile, scores of party activists assembled at Dara Shukoo Bridge in Bijbehara and raised high pitched slogans against Mufti Sajjad who is Party's in-charge for South Kashmir. They tried to sought chief Minister's attention, however couldn't. Sources said that several senior PDP leaders have raised questions over the way Mufti Sajjad was accommodated in the party. "He hasn't yet resigned from the governments services yet but still he was accommodated and made In-charge for whole south Kashmir against the will of party leaders and activists," a senior PDP leader whishing not be named said. |
