Farmer awareness programme organized under NAMET | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 9: One day farmer awareness programme organized at village Khara Madana block Purmandal district Samba under National Mission on Agricultural Extension and Technology (NAMET). According to press release, during the programme Project Director (ATMA) District Samba V.K Bhushan deliberated on various development schemes of ATMA and its importance in the field of extension. Deputy Project Director (ATMA) District Samba Ashok Gupta, while interacting with the farmers of the area advised the farmers to adopt scientific based technology in their field and further suggested them to adopt line sowing techniques in case of Maize and Sesame crop keeping in view dry land conditions of the area and provided them relevant literature regarding cultivation of Maize and Sesame crop. Assistant Technical Manager Romesh Razdan educates the farmers regarding submission of National Mission on Agricultural Extension and Technology in farmers field. The farmers gave feedback to the District ATMA team Samba regarding scarcity of water in kandi belt and proposed to take up for construction of check dams, water harvesting structures and developing of existing water bodies. Project Director assured the farmers to sort out their problems. Sarpanch Bashir Ahmed, Block Advisory Committee member (ATMA) Dhian Singh and Junior Agricultural Extension Officer remain present in the Farmers awareness programme. |
