Militant hideout busted, cache recovered | | | Early Times Report Rajouri, May 9: Police and troops of 43 Rashtriya Rifles in a joint operation have busted a old militant hide out in a forest, in Manjakote police station. Another hide out was jointly busted by Mendhar police and troops of 39 RR in Gani forest in Mankot sector in the morning today. About 26 items were recovered by the joint team of police and army. The recovery include 1-AK 47 rifle with 212 rounds and 8, magazines, 223 rounds of Pika rifle, 1-communication set, 1 Thoraya satellite phone, 2-VHF set, 1-wireless set, 1-digitial mobile phone, 1-tape recorder, 1-music player,2-small Binoculars, 1-dagger, 1-Global Positioning System (GPS),1-Polarid camera, 1-compass, 10-mini note books ,watch, lighter etc. One identity card issued by Jaish-e-Mohd carrying photo of one Mohd Iqbal and 1-HM letter pad were also recovered from the hide out. Police have brought the consignment to Manjakot and have registered a case FIR No 18/2015 under section 120B-RPC and 7/25 Arms Act (AA). Moreover, defence sources said that the recovery was made from a hideout made in Gani Jungle in Mankot area of Mendhar tehsil in the morning today. Recovery include 1 GPS ,, 3-Chinese grenades, 310 assorted ammunition of AK and Pika rifles, 1-AK rifle magazine, 10 meter fuse wire, 20 meter Brass wire and 11-pencil cells. |
